Patterson Grove Baptist Church
You are invited to join us for Sunday School at 9:00 a.m. and Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday morning. We offer study groups through Sunday School for all ages. We also offer Discipleship Training Class on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. during the fall/winter months. Come and be a part of a caring and loving church located in a country setting. We have been established since 1884 and are committed to serve and minister to our local community as well as missions across the world.

Dr. Tim Hendrick, Pastor
Pastor Tim has been the pastor at Patterson Grove Baptist Church for the past twelve years and leads the church with integrity as he is guided by the word of God, The Holy Bible.
Rev. Michael Criswell, Youth Pastor
Michael Criswell does a fantastic job leading our youth department. He plans youth events though-out the year as well as fund raisers to help our youth attend events such as M-Fuge, Deep Impact, Winterfest, 30-Day Famine, just to mention a few.
Cam Scism, Minister of Education & Activities
Cam has a background in education and brings so much to our curriculum in Bible Studies as well as a sports ministry including Team Jesus & Upward Soccer. She is very active with the children ages K-Grade 6.
Judy Whisnant, Minister of Music
Judy leads our adult choir as well as the preschool & children's choir. She has a degree in music and teaches in several of our local schools.
Kathy Champion, secretary
Kathy is originally from Virginia where she worked in a Baptist church for nearly nine years. She has been with us at Patterson Grove since January 2011.
Faye Dellinger, Organist
Faye has been our organist for many years. We are blessed each Sunday by her talent as she shares her gift of music with our congregation.
Jerri Tate, Pianist
Jerri grew up here at Patterson Grove and she is a talented pianist who shares her love of music with us each Sunday.

Open to kids 6th grade & younger. Kids ages 4 and younger must have parent or babysitter to accompany them. Please remember a booster seat if your child requires one by law. If you are bringing a guest, please let Cam know in advance so we can plan transportation.
Wed., June 11 – Crowder’s Mountain State Park. Come ready to picnic, hike, and canoe. Bring your sunscreen and a bag lunch – drinks provided. You may also want to bring some spending money – we may go looking for some ice cream! Meet at church at 10:00. Back by 1:30.
Wed., June 18 – Put your mark on VBS! We’re decorating for Agency D3, and you can help. We’ll be silhouetting detectives for the walls and setting up our evidence walls, and we need your help in transforming our space! Meet at the church at 10:00. Done by noon.
SAT., June 28 – Well Walk 2014. Here’s your chance to help kids on the other side of the world have a chance at a healthy life. Grab a donor sheet at church and start raising money to drill a deep-water well in Africa. The walk will take place at the KM walking track from 10:00 to 11:30.
Wed., July 2 – Family Fun Water Run. Families will start at the church at 6:00 and go on a quest to gain an understanding of the role water plays in our everyday lives. We’ll finish in the water at the Weases’ pool! Sign up so we can plan for pizza and dessert. It’s gonna be fun!
Wed., July 9 – Steele Creek Park, Morganton. A yearly favorite – great family time. Swimming, high dive, creek time, water slide, fishing. Bring a float or rent one at the park. Pack a bag lunch – drinks provided. Cost $10-15 (more info on sign-up sheet). Meet at church at 9:30.
Wed., July 16 – Lazy 5 Ranch, Mooresville. Make sure you sign up – if we get a large enough group, we can ride a horse-drawn wagon through one of the most unique animal parks anywhere. Feed a giraffe. Get up-close and personal with water buffalo slobber. Meet at church at 9:00. Bring a bag lunch – drinks provided – and money for ice cream. Back around 2:30 or 3:00. Cost on sign-up sheet.
Thurs., July 24 – The Lego Movie at Carmike Cinemas, Shelby. Meet at church at 9:00 (or meet us at the theater at 9:15) - $4 will get you the movie, popcorn and a drink. We should be back around noon.
Wed., July 30 – You choose: Bridal Veil Falls at Pisgah National Park (creek and waterfall) or Chimney Rock/Lake Lure (creek and “beach” at the lake). We’ll be getting your opinion at our Wednesday events and make a decision, so do your research and let us know! We’ll do a picnic either way.
Wed., Aug. 6 - No WW because we’re on our way to Look Up Lodge!!
Wed., Aug. 13 – Discovery Place. One of the coolest science museums around; this summer, check out an additional exhibit on frogs. We’re checking out a hike uptown for pizza. Put this on your calendar – more info on the sign-up sheet in July.
Sun., Aug. 17 – Churchwide trip to South Mountain State Park. Come up after church – we’re shooting for a cookout at the picnic shelter. Hike along the creek or all the way up to the beautiful falls (there’s a swimming hole along the way). Fishing available (license required).
